Metal Formula Bumper Inserts?

Hi I've tossing around the idea of making metal versions of the ugly black bumper inserts of the 85-90 Firebirds and Formulas. Any opinions or pics(photoshopped or real life) please post. My car was black and I could get away with it, but now the car is blue and those things stick out like a sore thumb. Hasanyone ever though of this before?

I personally never cared for those things, i knew from the day i bought my Formula that i was going to remove them. What i did was put on the front and rear bumper covers off my old 84 Firebird.

If you look at the rear bumpers for 1991 & 1992 are almost the same as the 1985-1990 bumpers, BUT the 91-92's are without the black bumper thingies, and there is a ledge just below the tailights... The 82-84 bumpers are more angular, but are similar... Dave84Bird has the 82-84 style bumpers.

As for the front... There is no factory bumper that looks like them without the "bumperettes" I have considered making a fiberglas version wihtout them, but I personally like the looks of them... I am in a minority I guess...

I have been considering getting a 91-92 Rear bumper cover, becasue the curves match the factory rear spoiler better than the 84 cover i have now.
