my car may not have a 2k paint job or expensive rims but it gets looks/compliments for sure..
altho my girlfriend thinks it will look very nice with paint on it, she dislikes riding in it.. theres something about 400+hp that gets her a little scared, go figure.. she would rather me drive her around in her Toyota Corolla, but o well, at least she doesnt hate the car.

this is an interesting thread. My relationship with my 88 formula is definitely love/hate. If only she looked like redbirds 92 then id be set. I love the newer 91-92 bumpers with ramair.
I like to spend time in the garage looking down at the hood and follow the flowing lines of the body...ya i could sit with my formula and talk to her if i wanted to...maybe i do...anyways i like the way 3rd gens represent a time when muscle car power was getting phased out and yet they still stood for something grand. Its like owning the underdog and showing everyone what was always under the skin the whole time.
thats my .02 cents anyways

yea agree.....everybody thinks our cars are slow for some reason, they are one of the most underrated cars i've seen....everybody says oh its a 80's camaro or trans am, those aren't to fast, but then they race, and realize that 3rd gens can really be fast, faster than most cars....i like how GM stuck through the hard times, and kept on going with the pony cars.....now I got a 86 iroc, and i was born in 86, and i'm gonna keep it too my grave I think, so it ages with me since we were born in the same year...theres just something about, you just can't let them go..

I love cleaning her up on a warm summer day and crusing around all night with the windows down. I've also met alot of great people through car clubs, etc. Its a great hobby, and even more fun when shared with others!

I love my car
I practically grew up with it. My dad got it back in 84 and it has been in the family ever since. I remember back in the day when we would wash my dads 86 Iroc and the 83 Z and I would barely be able to get to the t-tops lol. When I got it it was kinda beat, but I am bringing her back to her former glory and then some
Its fun crusin with the t-tops off and listening to the rumble of the exhaust. I love the looks and compliments I get, makes you feel good
My car is 2 years older than me
Its funny seeing the expressions on peoples faces when they ask what year it is and I tell them its an 83.

The thing I like about mine the most, is seeing all my hard work and efforts pay off. Younger kids can see my car and be amazed at the appearance and detail of the car inside and out (although I'm not quite finished with the paint). Older teens and and the younger adults who enjoy the racing aspect, can appreciate the power output, and then the old school enthusiasts will ALWAYS show a special interest in the Older American Cars being restored.

Yeah, our cars sure bring up some feelings. Either envy, amazement, or shere curiosity. The guy I bought mine from, had a son, about 5-6 or so, and he kept on crying the whole time I was there seeing the car go. As I wawed goodbye, he was totally destroyed. I really felt sorry for him, If it where me, I would have felt the same.
I guess it was somewhat the same as when we moved back from California when I was 5, and sold our big Ford country Squire with a V8, and moved back to Norway and our old Renault. I wanted to go back ever since.
My sisters 3 year old, don't like my bird, he says it's to loud. He likes Bmw's more, I think it's his father who have learned him that though..
