detailing ideas
Hi We just replaced our cracked dash top with one from ebay. What do you do to keep it clean and shiny? what products? How can you prevent it from cracking again?
thanks, Dora

You don't want a shiny dashpad, the reflection off the pad will hit the windshield and reflect into your eyes, causing poor visibility. I use Blue Magic Leather & Vinyl conditioner.
To keep it from cracking, use any vinyl conditioner on it every 3-6 months or so, and throw away any bottles or Armor-All you might have lying around, to prevent temptation.
During the winter, try to just wipe off any dust that's on it... too much pressure from your hand while cleaning will crack it.

During the winter, try to just wipe off any dust that's on it... too much pressure from your hand while cleaning will crack it. if it is in good condition leave it alone... just clean it every other week by wiping it clean with water and soft cloth. if your car is a daily driver buy something to keep it covered when your not driving so that the sun won't dry it out.
for winter time just leave it be. using any water or solution can cause it to crack.if you really want to use something meguiars interior detail mist is a nice solution that will brighten and clean without any harsh chemicals to dry it out. comes in a burgandy spray bottle.
