CRACKED, FADED PAINT

Guys,

The paint on the hood of my flame red Camaro is faded and cracked. I believe the car was imported from Florida so the sun will be to blame.
Strangely it has only faded on the right side of the hood and the paint on the fender looks much darker which makes it more noticeable. I guess the fender has been resprayed/replaced at some time.
Is there any treatment for darkening the paint and hideing those cracks or is a respray the only cure?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Simon

My 89 Firebird has those cracks on the bonnet and hood.

I've tried Tcut colour restorer, which does a fairly good job, but obviously a respray would the only "proper" cure.
