WEll, my first 3rd gen was a 1984 Z28...that's how I got the name "84CustomZ28"..and I still get emails from people asking about my "84" which is really a "91". Anyhow, here are a few pictures of my first car. I had thousands invested in it...and one day, I was sitting at a stoplight, and got rearended...totally the whole car. Sorry for the bad picture quality. Any questions, ask away

Well, the thing is...I put TONS and TONS of body work into my old 84. It was totally ragged. Rust everywhere, dents in every panels, and it just need alot of work. My 91 was almost 100% dent free, not one spec of rust anywhere, but the paint was bad. By the time I knew the difference between the 82-92 Camaro's, I knew exactly what I wanted, which was a 91-92 Z28...so I made my 84 that way. So, it wasn't "Real". I installed gauge pods in that were not functional, I half assed alot of stuff on the car, it was carbed, the engine bay was hideous, and it had like half the power of my 91.
For my 91, I've made everything functional, cleaned everything inside and out, the engine bay looks really clean, I've done everything that I wanted to, plus more with my 91. So the question really isn't "which car do you like more" it's "which car overall is better, inside and out? The workman ship, parts being installed right and working correctly. So, I'd have to say my 91.
i know how it is moving up from your 1st try...for me it was a 1982 toyota celica...after putting hours into body work, just to find out somwhere else was rusting twice as baad...i decided buy my 1986 Trans Am. interior was mint, and the body was solid with afew flaws...but nothin major..and the best part a V-8...okay so its an LG4...but it moves plenty good for me..
one day my 79 Formula will be done...but for right now...i'll just drive my T/a...and laugh at my old celica...ok now that i went on for way to long about stuff no one cares about...i'll shut up...lol
what engine was in you 84 btw?

I wouldn't have thought that paint scheme would look good, but, I have to tell you that '84 looked really nice man. I still like your '91 better though, black rules.
Then again, I am biased on the color. In any case, it's obvious you put a lot of time, money, and TLC in any thirdgen you have. Keep up the good work.

thanks for all the comments guys. Anyhow, to answer some of your questions, Yes, my brothers car (87 Z28) is almost identical to my old 84, which is awesome, because in a sense, it's still exsists. His car doesn't have the highrise spoiler, doesn't have the custom TA vents...but almost all of my parts bolted up to his car..without even having to paint.
Here are some pictures of the TA fender vents: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=144488
here is a picture of my bro's car..to refresh some memories, he even had his lowered with the sportlines.
