4th generation wheels question
My dad seems to think if I buy adaptors to go to 4th generation wheels the axle will become weak because you are spreading out the width of the axle (or something like that). Has anyone heard anything about this? Has anyone with 4th gen wheels ran into any problems w/ bearings etc. any thing will help

if u get a 4th gen rear axle, you will only need spacers in the front. i heard that spacers under 1/2" or 3/4" are ok to use, but large ones are not that great.
dont hold me to that because im not sure, hopefully someone else can verify those #'s and give you some specifics.

I've not heard of anyone having problems with their axles due to spacers. Theres quite a few people who have had them for a couple of years now with no probs.

Traditional spacers can cause the lugs to shear because all of the force is at the end of them, but the spacers needed for the 4th gen offset are so large that they bolt to the stock lugs, and then the wheels bolt to new lugs that are part of the spacers. Essentially axle doesn't have any idea whether that extra space is part of the wheel or part of a spacer because the spacer and wheel are bolted together.
