What kind of car cover?
I'm starting to research car covers to protect my Firebird as well as I can. It will be stored inside all the time, so I don't necessarily need a waterproof cover. To prevent scratching, I need a cover that is lined with either 100% cotton or flannel. I also want it to fit nice and snug and cover from top to bottom. Who makes the best car covers? What kind of car covers do you guys have?
i have the basic 30 dollar one from murrys and it works well, i too only keep my bird in the garage and the only problem i have had with it is the car is sometimes dusty, but the only time a black car isnt dusty is right after you dry it. if i could do it again, i woud buy a tighter cover, but if your looking to go with something cheap that works good go with just the basic one

I currently have one of the generic covers, it's OK, but definately not the best. My paint is not in the best of shape currently, so the quality of the cover was not as important to me at the time I bought it. Just wanted some basic protection from the elements.
This year however, I am having my car painted and will be purchasing a new cover later in the year. So far based on all the reading I have done, California Car Co. is one of the best out there, and the direction that I am leaning. They have many different types of covers as well as being made to fit the specific car. Best thing would be to give them a call, tell them your needs, and let them recommend which one will work best. That is my plan before next winter to protect the new paint while in storage.
Keep in mind though, they are more expensive than the generic ones. And I have yet to see a generic cover fit snug, so you are best off getting one that is made to fit the bird if you want it to fit snug.
btw, I have read a couple of articles in the past year or so that talk about the disadvantages of cotton covers compared to the new materials that are available. There definately are better alternatives to cotton in protecting our cars.

California Car Cover is the way to go. I've had one for my Formula for 4 years now and it hasn't had so much as a seam come loose. They are a perfect fit also. Don't go cheap....

It looks like I'll need the Dustop model if I go with the California Car Cover. These retail for $189 plus shipping.
I have also found another very nice cover made by Car Motorsports. Their covers are $199 with a few logos and free shipping. Website: http://www.carmotorsports.com/car_covers.htm
Both of these covers are custom-fit and claim to be "super soft." Anyone have either of these two models??

Custom 82-92 cover, is this one any good? I have no idea what constitutes a good outdoor car cover.
