RA II hood on '82 TA
Basically I was wondering what you guys would think of the RA-II hood on an '82 'bird. Would this hood look right since the '82's didn't have any kind of GFX so it might look out of place. Tell me what you think because I'm contemmplating on if I should get it or not. I really like the design.
Also, I don't want to get any GFX for the car so before you tell me to get them, I'm not.

no no no , please dont , get the powerbulge hood please. Ive seen the ra2 on i think a friend of zeyphrs. Not in real life but on pics. I really think you should stay with the stock power hood. It looks so good on that bodystyle.

well keep the hood then , if you want to dress the hood up put the venetial blind decal on the bulge and it will look different , but deffy keep the hood you have, do you have any pics by any chance.

I still dont understand how you absolutley hate that hood whenever someone mentions it, yet you have it on your car yourself......trying to limit the others from having that hood huh

well i dont like the hood that much anymore like i used to , i grew out of it i guess. I wanna just put the stock trans am hood back on and a silver hood bird and leave it at that . everyone i talk with says they like how it looks and my dad and friends say that when you look at in in the rear view mirror it looks real tough and aggressive. Sometimes i like it and then at other angles i dont. But he has an awesome hood on his car and should just leave it and do other things to it .

I thought about putting the decal on the hood. They are kinda cool but they came out in '83 and I don't want people to think it's an '83. I guess that's kind of stupid but I'm trying to keep the car stock looking. I know the hood I was looking at would be completely non stock, but it was just an idea. I think they look cool on 4th gens, but it takes a certain 3rd gen to pull it off. The more I think about it, it just wouldn't look right with out the GFX. Maybe on a 91-92 with the round bumper.
I don't have any pics right now, but I can get some for you.

I agree with you about how it looks at angles, it can either look mean as hell, or just gawdy.....then again I have mine on a camaro....oh no!!!

I like the RAII on my car, I think it fits the car pretty well. But on my Camaro, thats another story. Every time I look at the hood on my camaro, I hate it. I think if I keep the car, I will dump the hood in favor of a hood blistered one or an iroc hood.

I say....why not the flat hood?? Honestly, somedays I like my flat hood better then my 'bulge or my RA1. That's why I'm kinda hanging on to it....just in case.

i think the car would look great with the ta hood and the mecham wing. before i tore apart the mecham it looked awesome with the bulde and the mecham wing . I hope that the pontiac will fit under the stock hood .

This seems kinda heated and I am not trying to make anyone one mad with what I am about to say....remember it is my own opinion. I LOVE the RAII hoods!!! Those old bulge hoods imo look funny and cheap. Everyone to hes own I know, but I just dont care for them, I dont care for the RAI hoods either. I always wanted a RAII hood ever since they made one for our cars and now that I have one I love it just as much. (besides for getting it to line up right lol) Some people love my hood and some hate it. I just never got the bulge hoods...it looks like half of a cowl hood...kinda like an Eclipse has just a little bump on one side.

RA II hood looks out of place on a car with no ground effects.
My friends 82 with the RAII now has a power bulge hood. We ended up swapping hoods.
I had an RAII hood on my Formula for a few month as well and I didn't like it that much and went with the RA1 style. fits the car much better, appearance-wise.
