You guys like to ream that car out.. but in all honesty, its really not that bad. Who cares what it used to be, its what the car is now. Its not some half assed bondo'd crap job. Its a pretty quality conversion.
I wouldn't spend money on it myself, but I know for some, having an orignal vehicle thats pretty stylish and easy to maintain is a win-win situation. You don't see the fiero community all up in arms every time someone comes out with a new lambo or ferrari kit car. There's millions of our cars out, sacraficing one car isn't that big of a deal. I am sure its certinally much better than what it used to be.
K1 Styling's bodies are pretty damn nice if you ask me, I wouldn't mind having an Attack for myself as a weekend car.

It looks like they did a really good job on it. I think its one of the best looking 3rd gens with a bodykit ive seen. Most of the ones are really tacky.

I don't know why these guys just don't save their money on the kit, car, labor, and paint, etc... and just buy an old porsche or somthin.
The attention to detail and engine bay are a few things that several of the nay-sayers of this kit should take into consideration......
That aside, yes, those are home stereo speakers...

hmmm....this car is in the same small town as me...i think the guy who built it runs a tint shop about 3 miles from my house...i'll have to go ask him about it.<p>
i think it looks pretty decent...but i tend to be a "different" thinker...

I once loved these vehicles. I've not fallen out of love with them, I just don't bother drooling over a kit that can no longer be attainted. THIS Vehicle however, I would not purchase. I see 2 major flaws.
1. Those speakers.... thats just pathetic.. not even brand name. I'll be damned if those are not home stereo speakers.
2. The doors - he didn't get the skizzored (scissor) doors. that was one of the coolest aspects of the car.
The interior is nothing revolutionary,
-The shifter handle looks stock
- the console looks like it was just intergrated with the dash
- I don't like the "shade over the gauge cluster.
- The rear hatch is the biggest waste of space known to man. (might was well have put a notchback in the rear)
- I vaguely remember their being a different roof console for this kit as well (that one looks stock)
Ultimately, he did not go the distance in completing this vehicle. It seems that some options were half assed. Its a nice vehicle, but its not worth what he is asking for it.
Thats my opinion though... worth is truly in the eye of the beholder.

honestly u guys bash the 10k factor but. ALOT of you guys prolly put that/more into your cars. I mean no the interior isnt something to drool over but it does look like a super car. And for the insurance claim of a trans am or w/e over a real porsche/lambo Id rock this car anyday.

2. For any "Kit" car, you need to get 'specialty car' insurance which = $$$ plus there are mileage limitations on how much you can drive it...
Is it maybe worth $10k? No, I don't think so. It's still a 3rd gen underneath, with 70k miles on the original engine. If this is SUCH a quality build, why not build up the motor so it performs on-par with the exterior looks? I'm thinking this guy cut some other corners too.

personally I like it, just change the wheels over to some corvette zr1's with the 11" on the rear and it would be great. I think it is sad that every time someone does something different to there third gen you guys jump all over him like he killed a puppy.

I'm not convinced that they are no-name home speakers. They look like they might be a custom built set of 3-ways. I think I recognize the tweeter and midrange as Vifa & Peerless units, which are decent quality. I don't recognize the woofer, but I don't think it's as cheap as it initially appeared.
Still very odd for a car installation however, and the vinyl work around them sucks.

Since its soo ugly they should add chrome fender trim to the car to really set it off.

it could be possible. but look at teh corners and middle section on the boxes, the have those mounting holes for soemthing to cover them up...so u can remove them easily if u want to...now unless the guy made the boxes like that then its possible...or it could be afer market car steroe equipment in a home theater box.....

Body kit.... ground effects package/body 'enhancment'.
Kit car... rebody of an existing car platform.
The speakers are really, really close to looking like (old) KLH home speakers from a mail order company. They were Advent ripoffs. I owned a pair many moons only becauswe they were what I could afford until I got my cerwin-vega!s (which are now up in the age as well)
So what if the car has been rebodied ? It's a far better fate then fur headliners, armrests and 2x4 t-top holder or, being wrapped around a pole, driven untill the wheels fall of or countless other scenerios to trash a car.
You don't like it.. great.. don't **** and moan about it like it's a ruined car though. It's having a far better life than my camaro as a beater, my ex 84 sc which got ended with being gutted then beaten with a sledge and drawn on by kids and.. it's drivable which, is much more than my 'bird is doing (for the past multiple years).
If I had the extra $$ to **** away.. I'd do it just for the fun of building it.
It's biult on a 3rdgen platform... well whoopy-te-do. There's millions of them.. hundreds going to s--t every day. .. my camaro included. What's the harm in turing a few into a kit car rather than lettng it rot to hell ?
As far as the wasted hatch.. look at the rear pic close.. it's the tonneau (or whatever it's called) cover... just not attached to open with the hatch.
I swear... some of you people could b---- about being handed a free brick of gold.. 'to heavy', 'wrong color gold'...
just my opinion though.. it matters little...

As a owner of one of these, I can say it is so fun to drive around. Just think of how many 3rd gens you pass in one day and then go how many evo have I ever seen. Thats the point of owning one, just to be way off the chart. I love the 3rd gen for the ride and feel and once they start to rot why not have some fun working on something you may only get to do once in your life.
It's all about fun and thats what I had doing mine. I love to build stuff and be different.
