Searching for a Compliment!!!
I have a 1988 GTA with a 305 TPI and T-tops. I bought the car about a year and a half ago from a guy that bought it new in 1988. The car was only driven on nice days and he only put on 17,XXX miles on it. The car was completely stock and was in showroom condition. I'm a college student at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and I try not to take it to campus with me, but sometimes you have too. The car has now seen a little rain and has just seen some snow. I can't stand to watch the car go downhill while I own it. While everyone I know thinks it's gorgeous inside and out, I think it's sort of going down hill under my care, when it's really not. I take care of my car like knowone else, well exterior and interior, I occasianally like to spin the tires every once in awhile when the times right. I know that I can't afford another car but it bothers me knowing that a guy cared enough for it to baby for 11 years then sells it to me and I have to drive it for a daily driver. Just thought I would vent some frustration. I'm now thinking of buying a newer Z-28, Trans Am, or maybe (I hate to say it)a Mustang. Help.

Don't get rid of it - you'll kick yourself in the nuts for it later. Just find yourself a beater to drive in order to keep the mileage down if that bothers you. I hate it when cars are kept under a cover, in a garage with the air pumped out and replaced with nitrogen. It's a car. Not only that but it's a sweet car, drive it.

Gta Lover,
You are in the same predicament I am in.
I bought my Z with only 40,000 miles on it
and started to restore it and modify it.
Knowing that I did not want to use it for a
daily driver, I just bought a beat up BMW
320i that I use for commuting. I think you
should consuder something like that.
I save the Z for nice weekends...it's such
a thrill to drive it and such a great
stress reliever.
Just my .02.

Shoot i bought an S10 to drive everyday after i bought my 1990 IROC-Z because there were only 5000 irocs made that year... and if you drive that nice fbody in the snow i guarantee rust within 3 months.. it will happen here in the midwest. it happened to me. unforunately and that is why i am now restoring my IROC. take care of your car..and find a beater less than 1000 or so to drive everyday.. you will love your self in the long run.. have fun either way
