How do I paint my front ground effects?

Right now the front ground effects piece on my car has no clear coat on it. It is also really scratched up. I have never painted any cars or anything before, so how would i go about re-painting and clearcoating this?

I have not had a car painted yet, but I have read up on it. I have a 79 camaro and everything I have heard is that you need to use flexible primer. The front ends are prone to hit things, but the flexible primer helps to keep the paint from shattering and flaking off. I believe that there is also some sort of flex agent that can be mixed into the paint, but I'm not 100% sure. Like I said, I haven't had a car painted yet, but the guy who sold me the 79 did paint and body and told me about the primer. Hope this helps man.

Yes, there is a flex agent that must be used, not only in the primer, but also the paint itself.

If you need to paint the parts and not just clear coat them, then yes you must use the "flexative". If you just want to sand a little and then clear coat the parts, you don't really need to add the additive. Clear is pretty soft and flexable. It is recomended by the paint companys, that you only need to add the "flexative" when painting pieces that are already off of the car. If the pieces are still mounted, then they say that you don't need to add it.
