MY 84 TA finally runs!
After over 1 1/2 years of work, I finally have my 84 TA on the road! It's actually been running for about 3 weeks now, but i've been too busy enjoying it to post about it. This first pic is from a few weeks ago, but not much has changed:
And here is the exterior. I took these pics at my friend's house and you can see his 15th anniversary edition '84 TA in the background. I can't wait until I get the whole car repainted, but it looks okay for now. Let me know what you all think of it so far

that's going to look sweet once painted the platinum color. Paint the ground effects a charcoal gray and it will accent nicely.
Love the TPI setup. Im looking to do the same to my bird, if I ever get the chance......

The platinum reminds me of the '84 midnight sand-grey metallic that is on my car.
Good job on the engine swap to EFI: It's so much nicer than carb, IMHO. I've been playing with mine endlessly over the last four weeks and driveability is nearly there, with hardly any flat spots now.
Oh, and BTW, the Phoenix graphics kits are really good. I put one on and restored the stripes. It really separates the outstanding from the truly good, imho, because for twenty years everyone's been painting their '84s monochromatic.
I also discovered that the grille inserts really need to remain gloss black to retain the pontiac look. Otherwise the front end gets just too ' flat' nosed.
I painted mine this year, too you see.
Great job: We hope to hear some results from the track and car show scene from ya soon!
p.s. Hey, what are you going to do for windshield wipers? Also, I notice a non-AC air box, but the compressor is still on the serpentine belt assembly. Which way are you going with AC?

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The engine bay pic is a bit old and since then I've installed the wiper motor. I'm going with no A/C and already have the pulley to replace the A/C compressor, I just haven't gotten around to swapping it in yet.
For rims, I'm probably going to stay with the crosslace and repaint them platinum also. Although those ZR1 rims look very sweet as do ROH Snypers. What I like about the crosslace though is with them I don't have to spend big bucks on making my brakes look good too.

congrats man! I know exactly what it feels like... my 84 TA was down for over a year while putting the 357 in it.. first time we started it was on a thursday night with open headers... I was so excited I drove it around the neighborhood with open headers... enjoy man!!!!
MY CAR!!!!!!! It looks great. Was on here checking to see if you got her finished up. How does it run? If you change your mind about the color i have the factory graphics package for it. I had planned on redoing her in the same color combo. I always thought it was a beautiful car plus you do not see any like that on the roads. Drop me an email sometime. I finally picked up a new toy to replace the TA
ps the TA is not white it is a beige color
