Repainting emblems???

Repainting emblems???
I have "CAMARO" emblems on the fenders of my SC. They are old and one is broken, so I bought some newer (used) ones on Ebay.
The problem is that they looked silver in the picture, but they are actually gold from a Berlinetta.
Is it possible to clean and paint the surface silver? I want it to look nice. If not, anyone know where I can buy those? I couldn't find them anywhere on the net.
