polishing superram question

polishing superram question

I've been trying to polish the raised spots on the lid of my super ram and have been having problems. I sanded up to 600 grit and the a spiral sewn wheel with tripoli and then a loose wheel with white rouge. I just can't seem to get all the sanding scratches out and get the luster I've gotten on other stuff. I polished a piece of machined 6061 and it came out like chrome. I don't know what's up with this piece.

The standard lids are a PITA to polish. I have done about 8 of them in the past....I was never 100% happy with mine, so I bought the billet lid. Just keep sanding with higher grit paper until you are happy with the outcome.
