install white face without slicing

has anyone installed Macewen white face on an 89 firebird without slicing the volt and oil faces and how did you do it??

I don't have them, but I think that your supposed to turn the needles both to the same side, then slide them over. I don't know though.

I assume you are refering to the 1986-1992 Firebird model. These needles have limited range of travel, (indexed). They will not rotate much farther than there max/mins.

To install the overlay without splitting it one of the pair of needles must be removed (Firebirds 85-92 only).

Fortunately on the Firebirds, I have never experienced breaking when removing needles.

one more question,does anyone know a good way for me to polish the clear plastic lense that goes over the gauges??it has a lot of swirl and a few scratches in it
