New camaro :)
New camaro :)
I just picked her up on saturday out in ohio. She is freshly painted Dark Concord Blue, and undercoated with GM undercoating paint. First up is installing my moser ford 9" and full spohn rear suspension. Then spohn subframes and a custom 14 point roll cage. Eventually she will get a manual rack, tubular k-member, wilwood brakes up from to match the rears, coil-overs, and a forced induction 540+CI BBC
Of course i will have pics as each step progresses. Only 4-5 years till shes totally done
but she will be one of the nicest thirsdgens around
anyway here are the pics

Body looks awsome. I am going a similar route I guess but a little less over the top. I am shooting for 500 rwhp and I have a 6 point, a 6 speed and a moser 12 bolt. I am 21 and a mech. eng. student at Northeastern. I did every last thing on my car by myself.
The 25K total you have is more like what I am spending, you can't imagine how much $ you spend on little things here and there. More metal for tubes, new carpet, exhaust alone is costing me over 1500 for a true dual side exit set up made out of oval pipes.
I love to see someone else go off the deep end like me, but just remember that it all adds up quick, even just tossing in shipping. I have been doing mine for 3 years now. I will be done this coming spring. making the grand total time, just under 4 years.
Honestly though, Plan to spend way more, esspecially if you are going with huge power, 800 hp is gonna need an all out race clutch (at least 1100 when all said and done) just for that one thing. If you can pull that kinda $ and don't mind waiting.
Anyways, check out my site and see my monster, (mini monster, in comparison). Motor will be here within the month.
keep up the good work

Tell me about it. Projects spin out of controle......I even planned with a bunch of extra "padding" money, cuz i knew there would be stuff I could not account for, but all I can say is WOW, building a car for real is expensive. Thats all i can say....
only piece of advice I can say is add tons of $ for unpredictable stuff.
Hope it turns out kick ***, man.

Before i know it the car will be done and a 70 chevelle will have itsplace in the garage (ill have an inclosed trailer by then)
