Stay white or..

Ok so im going to be looking in to getting my car painted to I get that horrible bra off it (The front bumpers paint is all chipped and cracked from a previous owner the bra is hiding it). I was thinking of going black but not sure. I heard from someone that some car insurence companies want the cars to be stock if you get classic car insurence, do they care if the paint changes from anyone else experiance? (Yes I need to talk to them personally but im never home early enough to call them lately).

Heres a pic of the car now

And heres a pic of the interior:

I have seen a few black 85's but the interior was all gray if i remember right. Just looking for any input

here in BC you wouldn't get classic plates with that aftermarket cd player or without the original style rims and tires. repainted is ok but it has to be the stock colour and as it came from the factory.

Black definitely looks bad *** on a Trans Am. But it's also harder to keep clean and if you don't wash it right, you get swirls up to your neck (I have a hard enough time with my black stripes). White on the other hand still looks pretty good, but it's easier to maintain. And you wouldn't have to worry about repainting the jams and engine bay. But in the end it's your decision, and you'll have to live with it.

Thanks for the input ScottyRS, and I think your comment on the engine bay sealed my decision. Im gonna keep it white since im already going to have enough trouble just cleaning the engine compartment and I wouldnt want to worry about repainting the whole thing right now.

As of now if do get it painted its gonna be from my old tech schools body shop for free or next to nothing so I wont hesitate to paint it again down the road to black when I have the time and money to do everything completely right.

Dude,
Very nice car, please keep it white. My 82 is white and I just love white cars. I know of very few white third gens in my area, but trust me they are easier to keep clean and look nice. It is your decision, but I would stick with white. Post pics when you are finished.

Ok im juggling between an artic white and pearl white leaning towards pearl white though. Nothing is set in stone yet though im going to meet with the guy tomorrow and elt him look over the car.

Anyhow that brings me to my next question, I want a hood bird...what color do you guys suggest? Hawks seems to be the best/only place to find a full set of new decals and include a hood bird. They dont really show good examples of the colors but considering my interior im not sure any of those colors would look right?
