Hard to paint yourself?

How hard is it to learn to paint? Ive seen paintgun kits out there. Seems like you almost NEED a garage....dont think I would do it outside, dust and dirt would blow on it....

So how hard is it,and is it less expensive than having someone else doing it?

When I was looking to get my corvette painted we found out that the price of renting a painting booth for the days we would need it, and the costs of the paint came to about 500 less than what we could get it done for by my one friend.. I don't know how accurate this would be because the guy is a professional and a family friend, so I do't know if he gave us any discounts or whatever..

Just think about this. One mistake and everytime you get in your car and your gonna say "it looks pretty good but there was the one run" or what not. Deffinatly don't paint it in a crapy booth or outside way to much dirt. Also if there is any rust on the car becareful to make sure its covered with primer and not wet sanded to much and down to bare metal or it will just bleed through as soon as it gets painted again. Lots of things to consider if you make one mistake its gonna cost you twice as much material money to redo mistakes.

Please do yourself one favor. If you can't get a vetran to teach you, atleast buy some books. It helps alot to have something to practice on also.
