min setup $4-500... max being as much as you want to spend. the more options, faster rise time and greater adjustment all costs money. with all the accessories and my options with install to duplicate my setup would run $5,000. if you do it yourself $3-4,000 depending on what you did. the strut bags were the most expensive which retail for $1,499 a pair.

you certainly don't have to spend that much though if you do some research. one could easily come close to duplicating the setup on my car for 1-1,500 assuming most if not all the labor could be performed free.

damn thats just sick.. I'd love to have bags.. it would really help me out with my sort of unique situation.

I love the stance and drive on the sportlines however its just too damned low for me when going to and from home.. and I refuse to store my car anywhere other than home.

$5000 however is just out of the question.. perhaps if my car got to a show-only sort of status but at this point in time, $5k US is more than I paid for my car and all of its mods.

I love that and I'd love to duplicate it on my ride, its just not fesiable at this point.

$5k is the extreme as i said, most people know you don't pay retail for anything and obviously if you can do some or all of the install you'll save a fortune. to walk into any mom and pop shop the list price your going to get is never cheap.

$1,500 for just the parts is expensive, more so then many thirdgens themselves. use smaller valves, smaller air line, analog guages instead of digital, bags instead of strut bags, etc. and the price drops dramatically. it's all about the options.

Thats very nice, I wish I could afford something like that

I just want to be able to have a lowered car, and push 1 button to have the car automatically raise 2 or 3 inchs for bad driveways and such, but its just too much $$

Kandied do you that running KYB AGX shocks will be bad with bags? How much do u think a set up would be if you don't care about raise and lower times?

Around 1,000? All labor for free.

That's freaking awesome man!

How do bags handle when compared to, say, eibach's sportlines (just a generalization, i know every setup is different)? I wanna lower my car, but be able to raise it to change the oil, get a jack under the car, etc. would having smaller lines, fittings, and the like have a major effect on handling?

size of fittings and lines only have to do with how fast it goes up and down.

well, the sizes determine the speed of the air movement, right? When you, say, take a corner at high speeds, the air transfers within the bags, correct? so the sizes of the lines and fittings should have some effect, right? or am i looking at this the wrong way?

yes kyb's wouldn't last long with the motion. slower vavles cost less so yes you could do it for that and maybe less.

no, the number of valves does determine handling though. for instance if you have a 2 way setup up or single valve setup the air can transfer among all 4 corners so handling isn't very good. if you have a 4 way setup handling is great as the air can't go anywhere unless you release pressure.

ah, i was thinking the exact opposite.. i thought the air had a controlled transfer with a 4way and such.. thanx for clearing that up for me.. now i really wanna see if i can find all the parts i need for the cheapest (but not in overall quality) i can. I dont need mine to be anywhere near as fast as yours, man, i just want to have the control..
thanx

a good quality smc valve can run $30-50 a piece. you'll need two per a side as one for inflate and one for deflate. air hose is cheap, fittings are cheap, bags run roughly $2-400 if you just want to replace springs. you can purchase cups to mount and hold the bags or make your own. electrical for guages and operation of the valves can be as cheap as you want it to be.

me too. Since the KYBs would suck what wold you say would be a "good" shock with bags? Or is it really just worth saving for the struts? I know the price increases by a ton, but if it is worth it I really don't mind spending the extra $.

I am not building a race car or a show car so I just need a set up to get me around and be able to hold its own when I wanna beat in it.

That is more like it. I can install it all myslef. Can you give a rundown of all the parts you have, obviously leaving out all the little things, but maybe say what compressor/tanks you have? Thanks if you find the time. Later.

ps-What shocks do you run ^^^?

do you have any dimensions of the rear shocks? i'm thinking about pulling my bilsteins as the hd's don't handle the movement as well as i'd like and i don't want another adjustable shock. if i can't figure something out i'm either going to dry a nitro drop shock or the bilstein sports.
