Found white paint streaks on my car! HELP!

Noticed this today washing the car. You know when you drive through mud you get the mud streaks on the back fenders kicked up by the tires.. I found streaks of white paint on it as if I drove through a freshly painted white line on a road. How can I get this out? My car is black and with the white streaks it looks like total *** Help me, how can I get it out? Any solvents or cleaners?

When you are trying to get grime and crap off of your paint start with the mildest thing first and work your way up until it comes off. DO NOT start with abrasives from the get go because you may just end up tearing up your paint or even wearing through it. My suggestion is to get some Mothers Pre-Wax cleaner and hand buff it to see if that breaks it down and removes it, odds are it will, then wax and buff over it to bring back the deep shine. If that doesnt take it off use a mild rubbing compound and a terry cloth pad. The very fine grit compound will take most anything off you can get on your paint, but it will just take much longer than the coarser grit compounds. I would rather spend more time with the fine grit than less with the short at the risk of damaging my paint. If it isnt on there thick and hasnt filled any existing chips you shouldnt need anything more than a polishing compound and some patience.

Would a clay bar work? If not, then try some sort of paint cleaner/ polish like 85_TA_WS6 suggested. Make sure you get it done quick though before the white paint gets a chance to settle in.

Clay bar usually wont get the road paint off. This happened to my Cherokee (which is also black) a while back when some idiot didnt read the signs and ran over the white lane lines right in front of me . When youre going 70 on the highway and somebody does that in front of you, it makes basically a big cloud of the white paint which blew over the front of my car. IT WAS EVERYWHERE. I tried bug and tar remover, clay bar, mineral spirits...nothing worked. Finally I just broke down and took 5 hours out of my day to clean, buff, repolish, and wax the entire front clip of my car. Not fun considering it looked just fine before some moron couldnt manage to keep it between the lines.

try going to your local True Value or automotive paint shop. 3m makes something called General Purpose Adhesive Remover (it looks like this http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CMZZZZZZZ_.jpg ). I have used it to get tar and road paint off with. It's completely clear coat safe and like I said I use it on my 21k mile TTA all the time. However it'll strip the wax in the area you use it on. So remember to go back and reapply wax in the area.
