what kind of mod? I've seen a few with corvette lights, "birds" that light up with the brake lights using LED's, painted, blacked out, etc...

There was a guy at a Houston meet that had a cool mod. It was some kind of box that rewires the taillights. When you hit the turn signal, instead of just the one light blinking, it makes the inside light come on, then the middle half a sec later, then the outside half a sec later, really cool effect.

thanks, i did this mod quick..If you take your time and do it right it will look 10 x better. I even spilled some thinner on the plastic part and took off the clear coat. Its alright all i need is a new plastic and some more time. overall i like the mod . Cheap and easy

i bought a decal set from ebay. Sanded the paint from the inside of the plastic cover . IF you sand down enough you will sand down the bird and the paint. So after i sanded the factory pheonix i placed the decal on it. Spray it with some krylon plastic and carefully peeled off the decal. I then ran the Hatch light (the one that is by the motor) and placed it right under the lock for the hatch. I had to splice into the tail light btw

That is pretty darn cool. I'd love to do that in which case I would need detailed instructions being that I am spaz and all.

I had one slight problem... I used glow in the clear dark paint on it, and it ate the paint off. Now i have to redo it. All i did was take a knife and scratch tiny hole on top of the red paint, that way you still see the red bird duing the day, and at night.. WOW... Then wired a red light from autozone into the license plate light. Then i use aluminum foil to block the light from shining below the lens. and from around the keyhole. the aluminum foil also acts as a reflective backing that directs the light up to the uper parts of the bird. I'm tellin ya, it looks sweet!

also, to give the taillights an interesting effect, and slightly brighter, remove the lens and use 3m spray adhesive and glue aluminum foil to the back around the bulb. Soon i am putting in Red leds.. DO NOT GET WHITE LEDS FOR TAILIGHTS!! They are not near as bright as red, because it is not filtered like the white.
Also get leds and have many many leds in one bulb, that way it disperses the light and fills the entire lens.
This looks like a good one.
