Painting rims?
Hi, I'm contemplating apinting my rims, but I'm not sure how. I've got ROH Snypers on my car right now. I was thinking like a gunmetal or full black and then I'd keep the lip silver. I mainly want to do it because the previous owner of the rims put a lot of curb rash along the rim, so they kinda look bad up close. Plus, I love the way black rims look. Anyone think this would look good?
Also, how exactly do people paint their rims? Do they strip them, and if so, with what? Also, do you use clear coat, and what kind of paint do you use?
Thanks, Brandon

Well I see you're new here, so I'll point out the "search" button toward the top of this page. Always use that first before you post a new subject.
To answer your question, find some wheel or engine paint for the wheels. Actually any paint would work, but it should be some sort of high-temp paint (like wheel or engine paint) to handle the heat from the brakes. You should probably use some aluminum aircraft paint stripper to strip the wheels. And a clear coat is recommended unless you refinish and polish the wheel.
As far as how good the black rims look: it depends on the color scheme of your car. And, more importantly, how you think it looks. It is after all your car.
