found out my wheels are actually 79 camaro ones

just a rant..

yeah, so, when i got the Z28 recently i thought i had finally scored a set of gold 15" 82 83 84 firebird wheels for my 82 trans am,

and welp..... nope...

(after much research)i have found out that the wheels that are on it are actually these:

what am i gonna do with these freaking wheels ?
anyone know the RPO these were ? YJ8 ?

are they these:
http://www.nastyz28.com/faq/wheel/rpo-yj8.html

they are they are nice and everything,
but the caps are missing from them,
and i dont want them on either of my 82's since they are not correct for them,

if there were swap meets or something around here then id unload them there and a truckload of other parts too, but we dont have such things here, ever, everything goes to scrap

hum

why is it so damn rare to come across thesE:

and

these:

can find second gen wheels all day long but never third gen, EVER

i cannot believe how damn rare third gen wheels are, its pissing me off i have bene looking for a few years for the firebird ones and id like to find a set of the Z28 ones too, but noooo it seems to be too much to ask, and if you do come across someone who has a set then they want a billion dollars for the damn things!

sheesh..

thanks for anything

I may can gice you one reason why the 15" turbo (i call them turbine) rims for birds may be hard to find. Knight Rider replicas. As far as the 15" camaro rims i see them everywhere.

Good luck in your search, also i see nothing wrong sporting those 2nd gen rims.

I saw those same rims on an '82 Firebird in the junkyard. I was looking for the same turbcast rims as you are. Those 2nd gen camaro rims are pretty bad looking...don't like them at all. I kind of like the 2nd gen turbocast rims from '80-'81 Firebirds though. I did find a place that has the turbocast rims after months of searching!! $50 each

The rims in the above pic look like the turbofinned though, not the turbocast.

If they are not the "Knight Rider" rims then they should be more common. I see those rims way more than the Turbo Cast rims.
