How hard is it to tint your windowsby yourself. I saw this stuff at wal mart and was curious how hard it was to do. Does anyone have any pointers either? Thanks alot.

The stuff you get at walmart or any auto store (usually made by Gila) is a dyed tint. That's the type that turns purple w/in 6 months of putting it on. It's not hard on the side windows or the visor, but the back window can be a big PITA. If you really care that much about your car,, have someone do it for you,, it's gotten increadibly cheap, and most all pros use a metalized film that they can warrenty & it won't turn colors on you. Around where I live,, I spent about $50 on 5% tint,,, for $40 more I could've had it done on my camaro,, but I didn't feel it was worth if for that car,, my Firebird,, I had it done.

Man, don't even try if you don't have experience. It's easier just to pay someone. I got my back window tinted for $100.

Does anybody know the law for window tint in Illinois? How much would it cost to have all the windows tinted? Does it cost more the darker the tint is?

 

Unfortunately, in Illinois, window tint is illegal except for rear windows on 4 door cars, or the rear glass. So the only think you can do with a 2 door car is the rear window.
