There are two ways that I know of. You can custom build your own own mechanism for the existing hood (which I have never seen or heard of being done) or you can get a one piece fiberglass front end (which is available from several aftermarket companies) and custom build a hinge mechanism for for it. Keep in mind you will lose your bumper ability since it will be molded into the one piece front end. It also won't look quite like a vette because the f-body has steel inner fender wall which are not removable and you won't gain any better access to the engine bay.
Finally I guess you could cut off your entire front clip, custom build a tubular frame and custom build the whole front suspension and what not and then add the 1 piece fiberglass front end.
So spend your money on performance mods and forget about it.

Custom Dual Ram-Air

Welded Comp Eng SFC
Tokico Struts/Shocks
Hotchkis LCAs and Panhard Bar
Energy Suspension bushings all around

Why do Corvette hoods open from the back anyway? It seems like a hood opening from the front provides far greater access. I assume it has something to do with having no room under the Corvette hood for the springs and hinges.

It's been done. Check around the net for a Startrack Camaro. The front end was extended a foot and a custom fiberglass nose was made. It cost the guy 2 grand to do.
Personally I can think of a million better ways to spend 2 grand. Why not just get a hood pin hood?

My buddy has been wanting to do that ever since he's had his car. I think it'd be pretty cool.

okay, I'm gonna have to go with FUGLY on that trekmaro, not my bag to tattoo a car, but one thing I noticed was that they got the corvette tail lights to look pretty decent, can't even see a seam, then again it looks kinda boxy. But I think I could've come up with a hundred better ideas for a 92 convertable than that

About the Trek Camaro...
Some of it is inventive. The fact that a computer controls over 100 functions, like hood opening, windows, shifting the tranny, etc.. that is just badass. That is truly one hell of a computer system setup.
Everything else just about sucks. Like previously stated, I could have done a lot better things that this with the money. Like, Pro Street the mother.

You know, seeing that car kinda got me thinking.....When I first got my Firebird about a year and a half ago(regular 'ol Formula), the first thing I was thinking was "I'm gonna put some crazy GFX kit, and do this and this and this to it." So I started visiting this site to see how to go about fixing my car up, and see other ideas. And now, I've come to realize. Why can't so many Thirdgen owners appreciate the car that they have, instead of trying to mod the car up to resemble a Corvette, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc.? I don't know, to each be his own I guess, but just my .02

Hey, I'm not sayin' you can't have a custom car my man. Just from what people have replied to the topic, it seems like a pretty outrageous and expensive mod for a daily driver car.

I don't like it, it looks good on the corvette but on a f-body it looks like crap. I don't see the reason for it. I'd be more impressed with a lift off fiberglass hood than any trick hood.
