I have seen them do that hidden light thing on a truck in a mag I have. Its really not that hard, but I just don't have the budget for it right now. Maybe in a year or so after the car is done.

What they do is fit the light in there so it sits flush plus a tinny bit. Then fill the edges with body filler. Then they grind and sand down the light so that it is smooth with the body. They mask off the light and paint the car with like 3 out of 5 coats, then on the last 2 the uncover it. Add some clear coats and done. You see the light through the paint. Def a Bad *** Idea.

Sounds cool Maybe I'll try that with some of the lights on my Cavalier I want to get it as smooooth as possible with hardly any lines lol.

Dennis, I'm still putt-puttin' thru your pages. I knew about the 335's out back, but are you seriously running 245 fronts?! That's pretty massive, haha. When I eventually get around to building a Firebird, it's gonna be running skinnies/fatties Not the best handling, but I don't need or want an Auto-X/Road Rally car.

jrmaatta. You asked if i am gonna be running 245s up front,....thats not too big, but to answer your question. No I am not running 245s up front.

I am gonna be running 275s

Front: 17x9.5........ 275/45/17s.......with 2"spacers

Back: 17x11".........335/35/17s........with 2" spacers

The back will most likely go down to 315 and the spacers will be machined down to tuck them under a bit more

Just cuz I love pics...

here is a 12 bolt with 335s on it

and there is that rolled under the car.

Another option if you want the shaved look, but still have a physical handle, is the C3 Vette handles.

Altho I just looked at some Firebird pics while I was over at CD, and it wouldn't work the same way on an F-body w/o some pretty heavy modification to the door.

Here's another pic, I shaved the marker, mirrors and lowered it a bit more. I think it looks pretty bad ***. Anyone has info on alternative rear view mirrors: AKA cameras? 2 LCD screens in dash showing rear view thru cameras could be very sweet.

I've been toying with the idea of a cool graphic theme. White/Orange or White/Flat black is what Im looking for. I did this quick photoshop, what do you think of it?

Image removed- Please read the rules. Thanks.

They look OK at best I think. IMHO I think the stock ones go well with the body lines. If you want to make it look even more "slick" then paint the "gasket" that goes between the mirror and the door right were the mirror mounts. It makes it look more integrated. I might go this route, but am afraid of having the painted plastic peel off after a while. Dunno if it is worth the it.

hmm....

^ Try Krylon Fusion maybe?? It's supposed to adhere to plastic real well.

Thanks. I will tell that to the guys that are gonna paint the car early next year.

Maybe I will do it. The PS of my car has it done to it and it looks great.

anyone else think the no side mirror idea is really cool, but looks really strange, almost too strange?

I might do it, but no side mirrrors is just so strange.

Looks like a person with no arms or something.

Anyone ever had the idea to try and make the GFX vents on a 91-92 functional. I am toying with the idea of shoving some ducting in there and running the air to the brakes. I know my car is just a street car, and I def don't need them, but I just hate things that are not funtional so much.

It does look a lil weird, but it wouldn't hurt to actually try it, take pics (don't forget to post them on TGO!!! lol) and see how you and others like it I don't think I've seen any P-shops of your car, only that white one above haha.

I can't even imagine your car in one color all finished up Not even in a P-shop

Right. Well the PS was not started off as my car. It could have been. It did start out as a Actic white Z28. But yeah I can't imagine it done either. I will be getting my hands on a cervini hood within the next few weeks. Then Start dropping off parts at the paint shop. TONS of advancment will happen between the 23rd and the 9th of Jan. I have no work and have no school. Def gonna finish the pipes and wiring and fire her up for the first time.

And hopefully start to pic up painted parts and bolt then on, i.e. fenders, hood, nose, doors, hatch. Then early Jan maybe find a way to get it towed to the shop for the final spray.

Man I am exited this thing is getting real close to the end!!!!!

I haven't drivin her for 2.5 years!!

as for the mirrors, maybe next year.

Congrats, I can't wait to see finished pics lol. Ever since before I joined this site (cruised it for awhile), I remember seeing In-Progress pics of your Camaro

I just wish I'd known about this site when I had my Firebird, I prolly woulda kept it than. Or at least sold it to a fellow enthuiast rather than a super-shady used car dealer I miss her...

I'm all for 4th gen Firebird mirrors...on a Firebird. I helped Redraif put hers on, and I believe it was the first on this board to have that done. I just have never thought they would look right on a Camaro, since it is more angular. I'm not sure they would look right on any car without a Ram Air style hood, though. Maybe C5 Vette mirrors, with the stalk cut down a bit so they don't stick out so much?

BlueZee, I'm not positive on that pic, but I know that he's putting 3" out on it. The mid-section will be like 2.5"x5" oval I think?? He's got a monster of a motor that needs to exhale

i'm gonna be buying exhaust in the summer, and i want something that looks like that, some nice rolled tips, but i dont want mine to stick out past the bumper. most likely i'll make them stick INSIDE the bumper about an inch

That would look good When I had my Firebird, the shop that replaced the muffler made it stick out WAY too far

hey guys. Those pics are of my cars old pipes

That was just a simple flowmaster cat back that was on the car when I bought it. What makes it look good are the 4" angle cut, rolled chrome tips. Only about 18 bucks installed. (welded on)

Really easy to make it look good.

The new pipes are hooker long tubes, coated. Then spintech oval pipes till i get past the spohn x-member and stuff, then go back to round 3". Then 2 3" dynomax bullets and dumped before the axle aimed out the sides a bit.

Hope that fills you in a bit, there are a ton more pics of that exhaust on my site. somewhere in the low teens i think (page wise)

Later

-Dennis

one of the nices third gens ever. the only thing i would do is lose the hood and the blackouts for the tails. instead i would nightshade the tails with maybe 2-3 coats. and get an ss hood. even still, the nicest third gen ive seen to date.

Def looks great. The hood is not bad, but I don't like it. The balckouts are cool. As from what i hear the SS hood has major problems on the DS having a hump on it.

Anyways great job

yea i could have bought a brand new ascd ss hood locally for like 250. but it had that bump, he said it was the third one he got after exchanging and he was sick of all the shipping. even a stock iroc hood with blisters would look awesome on it, especailly with the iroc rims.
