Decals and door guards

I noticed in ReDRSMan's thread of pictures that most of the better painted rides have none of the original decals or door guards. I think I'll leave mine off as well when I get mine painted this summer. How hard are the rubber door guards to remove??

it depends on the style. I think one of them has a rivet in the very end, but the other (rounded & pointed) you can take off with a razor blade.
BTW, if you have the rounded, pointed ones and get them off without slicing into them, I might be interested in buyin them from you.

I do have the pointed ones. I'll do my best not to trash them. They are a bit faded though.

From: pgh,pa,
as far as my experience goes i have played with both kinds, and they both are held on by trim tape, and they just peel off.

Really? I thought that might look bad. Is there a problem with the paint cracking over the rubber?
