Help W/ Correct Pad Selection

I have a Porter Cable polisher I'm going to use to polish/buff my car. I'm going to use a 5-step process of wash & dry/clay/Meg #80/Meg Car Polish Stage 2/Meg Tech Wax. I am also gonna use the Meguiars pads but I'm a little fuzzy on their correct application. I was going to use either a cutting pad or foam polishing pad for the #80; the foam polishing pad, buffing pad, or finishing pad for the polish; then either the buffing pad or finishing pad for the wax removal. Can someone straighten me out on what I SHOULD be doing with these?

Thanks..
Eric

I've tried to distinguish between these pads, but the names seem to imply they all pretty much do the same thing. Am I right? I'm new to this side of car care. A wash & wax used to be the hi-lite of the weekend for my Honda...and Turtle Wax was the jewel in the crown! (haha...not any more....)
