No shine...

My 92 is teal, does anyone out there with a teal car have a problem keeping it shiny? After i wash, clean and wax, it looks great, after i wash it 3 times it looks just the same. It also gets scratches very easliy. does anyone else have this problem?

what wax are you using.. and what climate? wax bakes off at 85*. so you should wax about every two or three washes..dont quote me on that.. and dont let it build up.. wax build up is horrible. my friend had it on his s10 when he bought it. just follow directions and are applying by hand.. if so have it buffed on. it will be a deeper gloss.

The darker the color is the easier it scratches. When you wash and wax it you say it looks good...well after you wash it 3 times depending on where you live/how often you wash most of the wax is probably gone already if its outside a lot and depending on what you use to wash the car you may be stripping the wax off or you may be scratching the car which kills the shine.

After i washed and dried the car, i used meguiars paint cleaner, then meguires deep gloss polish with a buffer, it came our very nice. The car is almost always outside, but when it is not being driven, there is a car cover over it. It was repainted when it was 2 years old because GM had a problem with that color peeling off, and i dont think they put a clear coat on it because the dealer didn't want to paint the car because it was under warrenty and the dealer is cheap, the did a bad taping job also. Thanks for all the ideas.
PS. That was the best it came out. I waxed it before, i cant remember what i used because it was so long ago. But the shine didnt last like it should, i am thinking of havine a clearcoat put on.
