Smog/A.I.R. Pump question

Not sure if this is the right forum so mods move it if necessary. I was reading over a post about a delete pulley for the AIR pump and it mentioned an option of gutting the pump itself and just using it as a pulley for appearance. Anyone here know how I would go about gutting one of these pumps?

search the forums on this
many threads about it

you can remove it, and reroute the bolt.

look at the belt part # and routing for an 89 TBI 5.7 full size blazer

the pulley works, but it's like $50+
not really needed

Goose, whassup!?

If it was my thread you were reading, then it was me that mentioned gutting the pump. I've heard of this on more than one occasion, but I've never actually seen it done so unfortunately I can't be of much help.

Knowing that you're just as much of an appearance freak as me, why wouldn't you want to use the delete pulley?

It was your post and that's what I'll probably wind up going with at least until after AF. I'm also a big fan of stealth so a dummy pump would be the ticket as well. Hopefully someone who knows how will post. See you at AF?
