OK, time for a REAL paint job, what color?
the paint job i had done last fall was purposed to get my car all one color for cheap. the guy that did it was given an unrealisitic deadline, but he got it done, and it shows. he's so dissapointed with the way the paint job turned out, that he's going to work with me on doing it again. i was originally going to keep it white, but i slapped my Weld Rodlites on my buddies dark blue car to move it around, and they looked so much better on his car than mine, so i've decided to go from white, to a darker color. i'm thinking either Dark Gunmetal Grey Metallic, or Black, or maybe Black with some pearl ss stripes (up the hood, down the decklid, only way to do REAL ss stripes)
here is a picture of the car:

and one of the new wheels:

edit: and i don't want red or anything else that stands out really loudly.

Since it's an SC, I would go with something lighter, like silver or a pearl silver metallic to get a good color plus still see the black. If you look at the first picture, what makes the car look so good is that you can see the denfinition in it with the white.
Most dark single colored camaros need to have GFX just too look right.

I've always liked the way your car looks white. I would paint it a pearl white with the early bumble-bee style stripe around the front end. If not that, silver. If you are feeling daring, hugger orange.

ever think of the Pewter color that came on the 4th gen camaro's?
maybe make it a shade darker then the actual color. this way its not too bright and doesnt look too goldish

I'm a little partial to grey
. I agree that chrome rims looks better with a dark car. I think you car would look great either a dark grey metallic like mine or a dark metallic blue. Only downside to dark colors is it makes any flaws or dings stand out as compared to white..make sure your body is nice and straight.

The next time I paint my car I will either stick with the same color or go with a dark blue metallic....you can't go wrong with either one...either would look great.

Dark Grey. The color from late model Tahoes/Burbs looks awesome, has some hints of blue and green in it. I looked around but I couldn't find a paint code.
hey guys, i'm jeremy. i'm the guy who did matts car last summer. I was never happy with the way it came out and after talking with matt, we're redoing it. my fault for forgetting soem things while spraying but, i cant apologize. i'm redoing it and i will do it right for him. he's a good friend and im gonna let him see what an actual good paint job can look like.
i painted the white car in about 2 hours once i masked it. thats sealer, color and clear. pulled it out about an hour later. no baking booth, just a fast clear. now you guys might realize what kind of a deadline i was under
i vote for black. and matt, i'll have those test panels for you friday. i'm staying late after work tomorrow and will spray the gunmetal i told you about along with the black with white pearl. also, tell your buddy with the blue car that i matched the yellow he wants on his for when i paint it and have everything written down

That's a beautiful color and car on that first gen. I like the corvette color too. Maybe a black car with the Le Mans Blue stripes would look awsome. Member

and the irocs are sold and went to a guy in NY last decemember.
i think i may do a combination of the two. i really want an "updated" look or a "modern" look, but with muscle car overtones, hence the fatties and skinnies. i think i'll be going with gunmetal grey metallic, with flat black on the side of the cowl.

ya go ahead and paint it maroon so we can have a gazillion in warner robins. lol i see maroon camaros like everyday around here. like i told you b4 if i was to change the color of my car it would be that sunburst orange like on the c6 corvettes but i dont think that color would look right w/ o ground effects. and your buddy is painting his car black so you need to do something other than that. i would go with a dark blue or a darker shade of silver. you could just paint it pink that would look sweet with those wheels. lol

IMHO, don't get white, cuz the car looks like it's dirty much faster than with other colors. Unfortunately, black is bad too. But I love black!

white gets dirty SO easily. I had a white car, with white rims and white leather interior. You have no idea how much time I had in washing/waxing/detailing that damn thing.
I have a dark green metallic one now
