Car covers..? Best ones, protective ones, etc.

Sometimes I go out of town while the weather at home gets bad. Are there any car covers that will protect against dents from small hail, water, etc.., but still be breathable?

How do I know which ones are better than others?

i have a Stormweave cover from california car covers. IT cost about $200 but is one of the best covers you can buy for outdoor storage. Held up excellently this past winter.

I have several covers from California Car Covers. I have the Stormweave cover for my '87 IROC. It is great for outdoor use and is thick enough to deal with light impacts, but it does become water saturated. I have the Noah cover for my 454SS pickup and I like this cover better than the Stormweave for outdoor use (it's a little bit thicker than the Stormweave). I have a Superweave cover for a car I keep indoors, it's paper thin and provides no impact protection, but a nice bonus is that it's almost 100% water repellant.

If you give the Cal Car Cover guys a call, they are very good at assessing your needs and setting you up with the right cover.

I have a Wolf cover that I got from Summit. It's just a dust cover because that's all I wanted as the car stays inside all the time.

I've heard really good things about the California Car Cover Co. covers also. Be sure to get a custom fit cover for your car, they fit a million times better than a "size M or L" cover.

a mack6 and Neil87Z28 are giving you good advice here. That's where my cover is from and it's great. Whatever you do, do not skimp on a car cover if it's for outside use.
