White stuff on the paint

The paint job on my car is not really that bad except it has all this white crap that is flaking off. That's the clear coat right? is there anyway to get that off? If I could, my car would look about 10 times better. Thanks. Arnold

what color?if its the clear coat, and it probablly is then it will never look that good unless the car is sanded and painted.you can ry some things ,but most will only make it look good for a short time. Then again maybe its not and can be fixed/covered.Try some polish, compound products in a small area first.

I think it is the clear coat. I know that the car won't look shiny or anything. I don't mind it lookin dull/faded but I would just like to scrape off the the flaking stuff. It's mostly where there are shape lines like where the grill is on the hood and the bevel running along the edge of the car. I guess that's the best way to describe it. You can take it and rub it with your finger and some of it kind of turns to powder. Also you can't see it when it's wet. Do you still think I need a new paint job?:-)

yes,if you want it to look good.if the clear is peeling and flaking off in areas then it will continue to do so all over.
