As for the scoop, don't do it; I agree with what's been said above.

It's definitely different. Do you like it? I personally don't think it looks that bad.

Maybe look into buying another scoop with a lower profile. You know, one that's not so tall and stands way out.

As for the hood, I dont think it looks all that bad, considering what it would save you and how well it would fit your intentions. Just wanted to point out the clever website name those pictures belong too. Q8HP.com, good stuff.

I think it's very ugly, but it should be effective at the drag strip.

well are you able to get any aftermarket hood where you are? personnaly i dont like the scoop idea. i never have it just looks like a fake blower deal. i dunno, thats just my opinion. maybe you could order a generic scoop and cut a hole, and put a pastie on it? i dont know how available aftermarket stuff is for you.

Have you considered a carb bonnet, and route a pipe from there to a cold-air intake?

I'm not a big fan of the fake blower sticking through the hood. I don't know whats available in your area but there are plenty of hoods that look awesome on a third gen. My personal favorite is the RAII. Do you have an actual picture of your car?

How's that?
You asked what we thought in your first post, and in your next post you said it would be for drag only, so you've got two factors... appearance and functionality, and this is a classic case of the two working against each other. It's not our job to decide for you, it's yours. The best we can do is provide insight as to the pros and cons, which is what you got from this thread.

you completely misunderstand me man
you said it should be effective at the drag strip and that encouraged me to use it because as I said the car will be for drag only . I know you said that you think it's very ugly man most of the guys here have the same thought, it's my job to decide on it I understand
forgive my English man maybe the expression wasn't appropriate I don't know
sorry

what about something like what this guy is doing, with dual filters in the grill?
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...-what-you.html
i like that idea, and it looks better in my opinion. wouldn't require any hood modification either

Personly i think that square type hood skoops look good on third gens. Kinda like the old school snorkle, but rounded ones just dont match with the bodylines of the car. Good luck finding what you like.

Re: what do you think about this
Hi PF,
Newly joined, I'm looking for assistance with a hood clearance issue. I stumbled across the pic you posted in an old thread and thought I'd ask where you found one... It's exactly what I need to cover a Weber DGEV. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Garth
