Make sure the car is clean (where you will be placing the decals), and I also use a special dewaxer/degreaser from the auto paint stores. Make sure it's dry, and I also place peices of masking tape where the ends and bottom of the decal will go. I peel off the backing and very slowly, install the decal, using a squeegee to remove any air bubbles, and to firmly get the decal to adhere to the car.
I do the install dry, with no soapy water. But, you can use soapy water if you want.
Good luck with the install!

...Or you could have some one else do it...I found a local vinyl shop that is going to replace my factory Z28 stripes. Can't wait to see how good they turn out.

2 more questions What is the soapwater for ? What kind is the best ? Can i also use window cleaner ?
I´ve heard that some people also work with some kind of gasoline called "petroleum" . What is that good for ? Just to clean it ?
We don´t have 2 many good shops here in germany 2 do that kind of work.
U guys in the states are in heaven when it comes to stuff like that.
At one place they told me they wouldn´t even touch an american car

the soap water allows you to position the decal and move it around to get it exactly where you wanted without having to try to peel and restick.
I've used just dishwater soap in a spray bottle mixed with water.
I wouldn't rub gas on my paint. You can use rubbing alcohol, isopropenol, to make sure the surface is clean before putting the decals on.

So one last question about the wet version. After the decal is on the right spot. How long do i have to wait to take the protection skin of ? Is it better 2 use a hair dryer so it attaches better ?
