Color sanding and polishing fresh clear coat

I just painted my engine bay with new paint and clear. I have some areas of orange peel. I plan on color sanding it down, and I have a few questions. What kind of polish should i use? What kind of buffer do I need to use? I have a cheap orbital buffer will this do the job? Is there anything special I need?

What area of the engine bay will you be buffing? If it's in a small area...it would be hard to get an 8 in. buffing wheel in there. I would get an angle grinder...and get the backing plate and pads....I think they are only 3 inches or so. As far compounds...at the shop, I use 4 different compounds. All by
3m....but I can't remember the item numbers. Anyone else wanna chime in?

i usually use a perfect it 2 rubbing compound, followed up by a machine glaze, and finished off with a hand polish for a really nice shine
