I've got 295/50R15, and they fit just fine. My rims are off of a '79-'81 turbo firebirds.

I think the 295's are too wide for the stock 7 inch wide wheels. The sidewall becomes distorted. 235/60's or 245/60's look good in my opinion.

The best thing you can do to get the most from that rim is to go with a 225/60/15. Just slightly under stock diameter and giving you just a hair more punch. I hate to say it , but the stang boys learned it first in stock gt/lx 5.0s. G.M. wouldn't copy for their lives so they looked into 16"ers.

actually i have the stock camaro rims 15x7's aluminums on my daily driver S10 and i run 235/60/15s and it fits perfect. i love these rims and tires. but i cant wait to run a set of IROC rims on my S10. it will look so mean having that 2.5L under the hood. awesome huh? but go with the 235/60/15 you wont regret it as long as you get some good tires, no cheappies..

but the handling difference from going from a 15" to a 16" is amazing. I went from 235/60/SR15's on BF Goodrich radial t/a's to 245/50/vR16's on Firestone tires (top of the line, don't remember name) and Pirreli P7000's on the front. what a world of difference.

265/50-15 works just fine, same height as the 235's. BFG and Dunlop make them, about 80$ a piece.

I have the same 15x7 rims on my firebird. My buddy has 255 60 on 15x7 " rims on the back. They fit really well but I am not sure that our back spacing is the same. He has 235 60 on front. I think I might try 275 50's rear and 245 50's front. Does anybody know for sure what is the largest tires that will fit on the stock rims?

Don't go with anything more than a 235/60/15 or 245/50/15 all the way around on a 15 x 7. 245/ 60/15s will rub on the front and 265/50/15s look distorted on that wheel size.
