On the side windows make sure you cut the tint long enough so that it goes all the way down the window. Most people just cut it along the window sweeps and after a month or two of rollin them up and down you end uf with the bottom of the window tint peelin up.

Also if its your first time good luck on the back window. Ive seen some angry tint guys after getting done tinting these back windows. Ive been temped to get my bro to help me just take the whole trunk off and lay it on a table and tint it like that.

door windows would be easy...just make sure they are super clean....and use lots of soapy water.....and take of your door panel to get the tint as low as possible so there is no chance of it peeling up......i used my drivers license to push the air out...as for the back window, good luck..i have a spare im going to proactice on before attempting mine

Put your tint on the outside of the window. Cut the bottom and slide it down about a quarter inch past the seal. cut the front and slide it forward about a quarter inch. Scribe down the back and then slide the tint forward to get the desired border down the back. Then scribe the top edge. :HINT: Keep the knife at the same angle all the way across the top of the glass when scribing. FYI...The back window requires some minor heat shrinking to lay smooth and in one piece, something that takes experience but that should get you through the sides. Be sure to have the tint liner facing you on the outside of the glass. Scrape the glass with a single edge blade and squeegie the glass off. Wipe the edges with a clean paper towel. Wet both the glass and the tint with the liner off of the tint with a clean spray bottle of water and about 2 table spoons of baby shampoo. Position tint on glass and work the water out with a squeegie.

By the way...I have worked at the best tint shop in upstate south carolina for 4 years. If there is instructions in the box...burn them bc they suck. Not a big fan of teaching my profession but the first timer doesn't intimidate me enough to take my job.

he about covered it ALL! lol most people hate doing that back window. but what is a real pain in the a$$ for the back window is before this crome tint came out my friend who i worked for also tints office widows and stuff like that. he uses different grades and types of tint but he had this mirror tint he used on office windows and i had the idea to use it on my iroc....final result is worth the about 2 hours of cursing! the tint is not really ment for cars cause it is a pretty thick tint, and it took about a week of sitting in the sun for it to fully dry on the car(had hot air blowers in the car all day the first day to) but atip on the back window that is a lil easier is if you have the defroster on the rear window, my friend does this with all back windows and it looks awsome, and is alot easier to tint the trickier back windows but my back window i think is 3 piecestotal that he over laps on the out side of the window does the edge cuts, and then you just cut over the strips for the defroster, the pieces are smaller and easier to work with(he makes it look easy but at first i wasted some tint trying this way)but it is easier to do that way.

Auto parts stores, some of them, carry this window tint that comes in a roll, it's more narrow, designed for back windows, however I haven't tried it yet myself so *L*

The back window on our cars is definitely not the hardest to do but they can be tricky. What you would probably want to do is go to a local tint shop and get the tint...preferably llumar's ATR film. Auto parts store film is a waste of time...even if you get it looking good, 6 months down the road it fades, turns purple, cracks, peels, and delaminates...really nasty stuff.

If you really want something to be proud of on your windows, let a shop do the back window in one peice. We do every single back window that comes into our shop in one peice and don't let any shop tell you that it can't be done bc I'll send the pics of it.

the only way to do the rear window well is to remove it, lay it on something (preferably soft) and do it that way.
Also be sure to have the tint "warm" not cold. It will not crease at easy and be easier to work with. Mid 80's is where you want to be at a minimum.

LOL, this always comes up.. I did my driver side window, took aprx. 2 hours, Not one bubble or bug wrinkle, Nothing! and then i moved on to the passenger side, was going great, I spent 3hrs on that side, and then it got very frustrating it wasnt working, and the bugs were killing me, i got ticked, ripped it off and crunched it up in a ball, and went over to the driver side ripped that off and crunched that up in a ball through it the Fire and said, How Do like that That!!! (edited)!!!

Soapy water and a sqee-G Works great! Just have another set of hands, like i didnt... and it'll be perfect!!
