Painting Cowl Hood

What is a rough estimate on just sending a 3 inch cowl hood to a body shop and painting just that? I am just trying to budget out what is possible because the engine is getting too tall for under the hood. Thanks guys.

Really depends on the shop, some won't want to even waste their time with it, others will quote you high just so you go away! I had quotes on having the cowl hood for my truck done & they ranged from 300- 550 with no bodywork and that's probably not a bad price. Paint is expensive these days. Lucky for me, someone hit me in a parking lot and creased my fender so the shop just painted the hood at the same time for 150 bucks. Good Luck.
