ok i have a 1990 IROCZ and i dont like the third brake light in the spoiler. it has a bad wire in it. and two lights dont work, and no its not the bulbs, i have checked them. i was wondering if RS spoilers from 91-92s are the same height as the IROC spoiler. i thought they were because why would GM change something so simple. but i wanted to make sure.
i have a 1991 RS in the junk yard in my town with a perfect spoiler for what i need so i thought i might ask.. thanks in advance.

nope.... Iroc is a little longer from front to back (I hear...) hard to notice though... I'd go for it.

Here's the deal. The three-piece rear spoiler with integral lamp is different than the one with no lamp. It is wider to accomodate the lamp assembly. The side pieces are wider too, to match the center piece.

hey willie i forgot. it will still bolt on the same way right so if got the whole spoiler i could just paint it and bolt it on... or would it look totally different?

I replaced mine with an Iroc spoiler -the third light but the difference is none, because one side of my car has the RS standard spoiler and the other side has the Iroc spoiler (you know the side pieces.. no difference) The center part is also iroc.. it's the right side that is RS. Damn chicks who just back out of their driveways as you are passing by.. grrr

i switched from a standard spoiler to one with a 3rd brakelight, and found that only two holes match up, the ones on the ends of the center piece. because the pieces are wider on the ends, and GM wanted the holes in the center of the piece they're in different spots. So yes, you will need some bondo work and you'll have to drill new holes if you want to switch to a pre-87 spoiler
