Question about the stock rimes the the 89 iroc-z

alright i got the 15 ince rims on my 89 camaro and the car is mint but the clear coat on the rims is beyond bad unles its night and ur see them from 20 feet they look like crap so i ve asked a few ppl and a couple say polish the rims right down to the alluminum and it looks good can anyone tell me what i should do or show me some pics of what you did to urs coolk thanks

Wheels on my 88 were pretty shabby looking too. I cleaned them really good then used a Brillo pad, leaves them dull and lightly scratched. Then I sprayed them with a clear top coat. Either clear laquer or, what I used, Truck and Van clear topcoat. If you get them sprayed right they look pretty darn good. IF the outer rim has some real dark places from wheel weights, you'll have to sand this first, and it will show still.
