the Yonaka Ronin seats may be worth considering. They're quite a bit more tasteful in appearance than other affordable seats, and they're better built too:

I have some Dynamic Auto design seats(aka DAD). Got them on Ebay for $300 shipped.

I used the stock sliders(as the holes are the EXACT SAME WIDTH) and just drilled new holes in the sliders about 1 1/4'' in on each side and bolted them on. The UNIVERSAL sliders that came with the seats I did not use at all. Here are some pictures

They fit really nice and arent hitting the cage anywhere as much as it looks. These seats are also very comfortable!

I actually heard that the summit ones were pretty good quality. With our cars you're pretty much going to have wear on the bolsters of any seat you get because of how low the car is getting in and out....just keep in mind that alot of aftermarket seats require some modding to the tracks to fit with our cars, though some companies sell tracks made for our cars as well

one as an example - Corbeau seats

...I think sparco makes brackets too for our cars though Ive heard that they are taller than they should be, and may need to be cut down

Yeah the summit ones are nice but pricey....400 for the pair without shipping is not cheap in my opinion....I wouldnt mind the kind that nufnuff28 has...

does anyone if you find tan ones like that for that price??. only summit seems to carry tan

Actually, I've heard the Summit seats are good quality. They aren't, however, the most comfortable ones out there. Again, you get what you pay for.

The company I got mine from did have tan also, and besides drilling 4 new holes in the stock rails for the bolts to to bolt them to the seat was a direct fit.

Here is the website

the apc carbon fiber units are probably the best i've ever seen in person that are cheap. you get what you pay for though. unfortunately the nicer quality seats are so much more.

OK well, here are mine: Tenzo R racing seats. Real comfy. Got them off ebay $400 shipped to my door. I thought it was pretty cheap. I mean considering it is the one thing in the car that you are ALLLWAYS using, no matter what you are doing in it.

Here is a walk through with pics of how to install them. It is just a page off my car's cardomain site.

1991 Chevrolet Camaro - Dennis's Chevrolet

I really likes these cuz they had the holes on the sides too, not just on the back/ the price was right/ they where not all one texture, give a better feel/ The area that is going to get a lot of wear, bolsters, are made with tougher material cover.

Great seats.

that's a prime reason why i spent the money on my recaros. my corbeau's began to hurt after 1 hour in them.

my corbeaus are VERY VERY comfortable... i LOVE em.

only downside is the seatcovers suck.. the leather doesnt fully cover the bolster wearpoints.. so its wearing out there, and the black sun fades too quickly

They come in a bunch of colors too. and I think leather, if that is you thing.

damn you!!! i always thought that seats like that look rather out of place in a 3rd gen but the more i look at your seats the more i feel i'd fit in them... i do need new seats for a restore project and the Tenzo seats you have look like they are about the same as the DAD seats except the tenzos look thicker...

do you think they sit up higher than the factory seats? one thing i like about 3rd gen factory seats are that they sit low.. my 4th gen felt higher and i didn't like that...

Nope. they sit about the same height. Maybe a tad higher, but I really don't know. Search through my whole cardomain site. There are 26 pages.... there might be a page with the angle you want, that will better answer your question.

If not, I can take some measurments. Like distance from the roof or something... Let me know.

So is $400 too much?

If so, what price range you looking for?

Don't go too much less. Just save up to get good seats, your @ss will thank you in the end.

What's the weight on those bad boys? What's about the lightest seat for a 3rd gen?

The Tenzo Rs? They weigh maybe 4 or 5 lbs. I would guess. I have no idea, but I had to carry them from my basement to the car at least 6 times, during the build of my car and I could allways do it with just about no effort. And I am no hulk either.

Minimal weight. Less than a stock seat, easy.

Hope that helps.

for cheap no... but every nice quality seat manufacturer makes them in tan. usually the cheap models like apc and the rest are in the colors they are to be the most generic as possible so they can fit a vast array of applications bringing the cost down.

adjustable or non? depends on your options. my recaros are roughly 12lbs lighter a seat then my corbeaus were. a little heavier by a few pounds then the sparco comparable model because of the design.

non adjustable the carbon fiber cobra, recaro or sparco are all very comparable at just a few pounds. you can pick them up with your pinky.

but you pay at over $1400 a chair.
