What type of polishing/buffing pads are the best to use? Working on polishing my lexan t-tops and the orbital buffer you get from the auto parts store just isnt cutting it.

Any ideas?

Those orbital buffers from the auto parts stores are only good for apply and removing a basic coat of wax. They don't have the oomph to cut through swirl marks in paint or anything else for that matter. You really need something like a Porter Cable 7424, about $119 at coastaltool.com, but then you'll need some 6.5" pads for it; I recommend the Meguiar's pads at autodetailingsolutions.com. You can do some serious defect correction with this thing, and still use it to apply and remove wax. My only regret about mine is that I didn't buy it sooner.

You need a soft foam pad and plastic compound. There are kits available for plastic polishing. Slow speed (around 1750 RPM)and light pressure. If you want specifics shoot me a PM.

Thanks for the info guys. Hours of buffing with no results is starting to annoy me a bit.
