I need a review of GTS front light covers on a 3rdgen Camaro!!

I'm thinking about getting front light covers for my '86 IROC. If you own some of these, are you happy with them? Are they hard too install? Are they easy to remove and re-install? Do they allow your headlights too work at night while they're on? If anyone has any pictures of 3rd gen camaros, preferabbly IROC's with GTS light covers please give me the URL's to the pictures. Thanks!

Nate

I had a set and I really liked 'em. I got the clear ones so I could leave them on at night. The smoked ones are just too dark; even if you use your high beams you won't get enough light, nevermind the fact that it would be illegal to drive at night with the covers on. Take your time installing them and they'll last quite a while. Mine were 2 years old when the plastic bracket finally broke. The combination of age, the California sun drying them out and the stress from me removing and reinstalling them several times made the plastic a bit brittle, and finally the air caught one on the freeway enough to break it off. The price versus how long they lasted was worth it to me, I'll probably be getting another set one of these days.

I had a set on mine a long time ago. The mounting method really sucks. Has these two channeled pieces with adhesive that sticks on the sides of the headlight pocket. Then you put one side in the channel and bend the cover enough to get it into the other side. See any flaws with this? I cracked one side of that, then I made my own with some clear acrylic, and cracked those.
Also, the wind vibrates them and I don't like that. I'll see a reflection of the sun glinting off the cover and it's strobing because of the vibration. Eventually they'll fly off at high-speeds unless you use the optional bracket to hold it on. But that requires drilling and you can see why most people opt not to use it.
Also, the tinted ones look like crap at night. Even if you could see with the diminished brightness, the visual appeal is gone at night because the acrylic is actually kind of milky so the light shining through it looks like crap.

Andy89RS: are you the one I sent that driver's side mirror to? If so, it's cool finally seeing the car it went on.

if not it's still a cool car

they do make your headlights look like crap and the mounts do suck. during the day they look good though. i have the smoke ones and my car is black and they really look good on the back. the ones on the front just dont sit like i want them to. but they are pretty cheap for the looks.

btw my foglights compensate for the dimness that the covers create, and i run brights ALL the time.
