Get no more then a 5.5" backspacing.

More than likely those wheels won't work. look at the design of them.. its made for about a 0 offset, while your car needs about a 5.5" offset. not sure if eagle can custom that, but give them a call (I inquired about those 77's about 7 months ago, and they didn't have any to fit a thirdgen.) worth a shot though.

You are mistaken. 0-offset on an 8" wide wheel is 4" of backspacing. You are confusing the terms. 17X8 wheels will work with a 4" or 4.5" backspace...

GMI Fast is correct. 15, 16, or 17x8" rims as long as they are 0 offset and 8" wide will work on ANY 3rd gen F-body car!

This is a simple concept to understand. 88ta... or anybody else for that matter, for the record...

Don't ever let ANY tire shop jacka$$, or anyone else talk you out of getting the rims you want for your car! Chances are that they don't even know what the hell they're talking about! Just make damn sure you KNOW two things:

1) 3rd gen F-bodies were designed to fit 16x8" rims with a 0 offset for the FRONTS and 16mm positive offset (just under an inch) for the REARS. O offset on all four wheels will work but, your rears will protrude alittle!

2) You must be consious of your tire size and have the appropriate tires for the size of rims that you're buying. I've included (2) tire size calculator (links) for everybody to check out.

Also, Here's a site to help in understanding offset and wheel backspacing.

http://www.fikse.com/cad.html

know that backspacing is measured from where the HUB and wheel meet to the INSIDE EDGE of the wheel. So knowing your STOCK WHEEL SPECS, you should know your limits. Remember, as GMI stated, 0-offset on an 8" wide wheel is 4" of backspacing.

Did you know that an 8" wide wheel is actually 9 inches in total width? So now you know to also watch your overall width. Good luck all! I hope this helped.
