wax for the winter.

hey all.

A great way to store your third gen is to protect it before you store it for 6 months or so (climate abiding) a great way is to hand wash your vehicle with car soap NOT dishsoap. before that, wash your car with baking soda and warm water, bout half a small box to a big pail of water. the baking soda is neutral and stops any acidic or alkaline particles or water from further eating slowly at paint, even acid rain will continue to eat at your paint even though youve rinsed it off.after rinsing off vehicle, hand dry it good, including door jambs and below doors, gas area, and trunk lip inside and out, anywhere will water sits horizontally is key for rust. even if rustproofed.then apply a carnauba or synthetic wax to your car, nice thin layer and buff by hand or by orbital.(you can buy at alot of dept. stores. do not apply tire shine as it can slowly eat at sidewalls of tire. cover your car with a carblanket or sometype of dropsheet. and let sleeping birds lie questions? ask me! im a 6 year proff. detailer and would love to help out anyone who is a personal car carer. i am not, a body shop worker and cannot answer wetsanding or body rest. questions. thanks
