Original vs. Current paint
When I got may car, it was black. Then I ran the RPO codes and found out that it is supposed to be the silver metallic and hawaiian orchid. I don't know what to do. I need suggestions. Keep it black or go original?? Anybody have any pics of a silver/hawaiian orchid 'bird? Thanks.
I'd say whatever you want it to be. Black is pretty kewl, but is common. The silver would look pretty good IMHO (since I have a gray/silver camaro myself)

It's just my opinion, but i like black on the f-bodies. Maybe I'm just partial being that mine is black.

RARE-ROC-Z:I just double checked my RPO and here's the rundown: D86-Paint,two-tone,deluxe D98-Stripe,acccent 13U-Primary color, exterior, bright silver metallic 71A-Stripe color,accent,two-tone,silver/red 84L-Secondary color, exterior, hawaiian orchid.
If anyone has a camaro/firebird in this paint scheme, I would like a pic please. Thanks.

While I'm partial to black, the two-tone option (split mid-body) was fairly rare. If you can justify the cost, I'd change it back to original.

Would it increase the value of my car any if I put it back to original since it was rare? I don't think silver and hawaiian orchid really go together, but if it increases the value, I'll live with it.

In my opinion, the fact that it has already been repainted a non-stock color (black), the "concours" show car value has been lost. Since it's likely you just want to drive this car and have fun with it, going back to the stock color will really have no impact on value. It will cost more to switch back to original colors and you will not recover that cost if you decide to sell it. It just comes down to personal preference. I you feel better about the car because it's painted the correct color, go for it. If you like black better, no harm done. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure it'll be something to be proud of no matter what you decide.

Thank you very much Blackbird. I think I'll stick with black then. The only reason I even considered changing it back was because this paint job was crappy. It's chipping and flaking where the roof meets the hatch, down in that slot, and on the spoiler pillars. They just painted right over some rust which I now need to fix (the actual reason for having to repaint my car.) Again, thanks.
