I used Dupli-color high temp aluminum paint which made it look similar to ceramic coating. I then hit it with a high temp clear which brought it down to an almost titaniul color. When I finish my TPI swap (hopefully this weekend) I'll put a pic of it here.

Yes, that is an SLP unit that was used on the Firehawks. SLP sold them for $299, but required an SD TPI setup and you had to relocate the battery.

Actually, I just sprayed the top of the plenum red and then sanded the top, did it while I was in the pricess of polishing it.
Did the same with the distributor cover (I bought the corvette aluminum one so I could polish that as well).

I like that! Did you use any special kind of preparation like primers or base coats?

I just kept mine simple. I painted the base black because it is impossible to clean very well. the rest of the intake is painted dark grey which I like. I used to have red stripes in the ribs of my plenum like Zepher, but I didnt like them so I just painted them all one color. I drive the car quite a bit so it has to be easy to clean and make look nice. By the way, anyone want to buy my intake base, runners, plenum, throttle body, and air foil? THey are all ported and port matched.

I definetly think they key it to keep it simple with some color, not to much though and keep the rest of it clean.

That just my 2 cents

i agree, but that goes with the whole car!
nothing flashy to the untrained eye, or in this case non-thirdgeners.
