Ground Effects Help!

Alright here it comes, this is all camaros. Are all ground effects the same regardless of year??? How are the ground effects attached to the car??? What should I use to attach RS ground effects to and '86 SC??? Will the exhaust clear the ground effects??? Should I paint the ground effects seperately from the rest of the car (before they are attached), or stick em on and then paint the whole thing??? How much would you expect the ground effects to cost??? Are there any pick a parts places near the San Fernando Valley in California??? Ummm that's all I can think of now, thank you in advance.

Car: 2001 Camaro Z28/1995 Camaro Z28
Engine: just a little 5.7(LS1-320/340 RW)
Transmission: SMOOOOOOTH T-56/Auto. . .
Axle/Gears: 3.42 and 2.73
No, all ground effects are not the same.
they have a pair of screws in the front under the RS IROC CAMARO Z28 logos... and a hook setup in back that lifts up.
did the 86 SC have GFX? then the same method otherwise don't...
paint them separately from the car.
no clue on cost...$250? ? ?
In Washington state here...try the phonebook?

Here goes. There are three Camaro styles of gfx: 82-84 Z-28, 85-90 Z-28/IROC/RS/88SC, and 90-91 all. The 91-92 style is just a variation on the 85-90 style, and attaches exactly the same and uses the same nose. You don't want the 82-84 style, as everything is different.

The gfx are attached using bolts, brackets, and studs. You will need to drill holes in your fenders, doors, and rear quarters to mount the side pieces. You will need a new front bumper cover, and the lower piece bolts to that (and the fender). You need to rivet brackets to the rocker panels for the lower side pieces. The rear bumper cover is a straight bolt on.

The exhaust on your sport coupe sits higher than on gfx equipped cars, and you should lower it so you don't melt the urethane.

Paint the pieces off the car AFTER you have prefitted them.

Its not that difficult, I added mine in '89 and used TransAm side pieces for a different look. You will also need a new grille, and if you have fog lights, just turn them upside down and mount the brackets to the bumper bar above them
