Buff or Clay Bar

Hey guys I am probably getting a 91 GTA that is a adrk gree (awesome color). the paint is in great shape, but it is lacking a little shine. I was wondering if i should buuf the car or clay bar it? do they do the same thing? Should I buff it then clay bar it? I have buffed out 2 cars before so I know what i am doing and they both came out good. But i have never used the clay bar method. So could you guys give me some input on which you think is better or if you have a better way to get out the shine PLEASE let me know.
Thanks
Tom

first I would clay the car(with a light clay, you can use a heavy clay but you will definetly have to buff it if you do)then buff with a clearcoat/basecoat cleaner, then follow up with a good wax.any Questions just e-mail me if i can help.....blucamaro@aol.com

well, if the paint is as good as u say it is, then you will have no problems, but if its not near perfect, then you will have problems with clay, simple as that
